Cloud Technical Architect

As a subject matter expert in the area of Hosted Cloud Solutions, overall responsibilities include architecture and operations of core cloud platforms with an additional emphasis on transitioning customer workloads to s cloud solutions.  This includes identification of requirements and scope, implementation and transition planning, and platform-level service delivery to meet customer’s business objectives. The focus will be on leveraging the latest products from Fujitsu, Vmware, Microsoft and other strategic partners, to deliver and operate fully  configurable cloud computing solutions.

Individual will report to the Architecture and Design team, and will work across the organization with Program and Project Management, Service Delivery, and Data Center Operations to ensure the cloud platforms are meeting the expectations of our customers.  Individual will also work closely with Portfolio and Product Development groups to provide feedback on essential cloud platform requirements.

Responsibilities:

•         Play a key role in the detailed design and deployment of a next generation Hosted Private Cloud platform

•         Play a lead role in transitioning defined customer workloads to Hosted Cloud solutions

•         Develop strong customer relationships that enable to become a trusted advisor.

•         Play an active role in the operation of the Hosted Private Cloud platforms, including SLA reporting, maintenance window support, capacity management and planning, disaster recovery functions, billing operations and more.

•          

Experience/Skills/Knowledge/Education

•         12+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years as a senior consultant or architect in a 24x7 service provider environment

•         Proven architecture, design and deployment experience with Public and/or Private Cloud platforms, including

Ø  experience with multi-tenant (shared) and single tenant (private) configurations

Ø  hands-on experience with enterprise class infrastructure such as rack and blade servers, storage arrays, networking and security solutions, monitoring solutions, enterprise backup, and more

Ø  experience designing VMware and HyperV based solutions

Ø  experience with intrastructure automation and orchestration products

Ø  experience with customer self-service functionality

•         Proven operations experience of Public and/or Private Cloud platforms, including:

Ø  experience onboarding / transitioning customer applications to cloud

Ø  experience with capacity / availability / performance management for IaaS environments

Ø  experience utilizing ITIL based Service Management approaches

Ø  experience with Disaster Recovery policies, procedures and techniques

Ø  experience with pay per use metering and billing mechanisms

Ø  experience with Active Directory management and implementations

Ø  experience with  infrastructure applications such Exchange,SharePoint,ISA/TMG, and or SQL

Ø  experience with Windows Server platforms

•         Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

•         Vmware Certified Professional (VCP) is a plus

•         Familiarity with security standards such as SOX, SAS-70, ISO 27001, ISO 17799, PCI, FIPS, FISMA is a plus

•         Familiarity with Fujitsu hardware and/or software foundations is a plus
