CIKM 2013 is calling for student volunteers

CIKM 2013 is calling for student volunteers

We are seeking student volunteers for the 22nd ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM), which will be held in San Francisco, CA, USA, from October 27th to November 1st, 2013. Student volunteers will be expected to assist the organization of the conference with tasks such as staffing the registration desk, checking badges, being a room monitor for a session, and helping local arrangements before the conference. Details of the assigned duties will be informed to the volunteer when his/her application is accepted.

  • With higher priority to be considered to receive student travel awards sponsored by Facebook
  • Receive a full or partial registration waiver
  • Interact with many researchers and practitioners in academia and industry
  • Come to silicon valley and connect to many companies
  • Attend interesting tutorials, workshops, industrial talks, and conference paper presentations
  • Can receive a certificate from CIKM for the volunteer service.
There are a limited number of these positions. Applicants must be enrolled as a student at the time of the conference. Students interested in volunteering should send the following information in an email message to Dr. Yi Fang atlocal@cikm2013.org, with the subject "CIKM2013 student volunteer application".

  • Short bio or CV
  • Advisor's name
  • Proof of full-time student status (e.g. a copy of student ID)
  • Please indicate days and times when you are unable to work as a volunteer
Applications must be received by Aug 15th for full consideration, and will be notified of acceptance by Aug 31st.
