University of Edinburgh, School of Informatics : Research Associate in Text Analysis
This 2-year fixed term position is associated with the project "Time Travel for the Scholarly Web", to be funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The project is concerned with scholarly communication on the web and its preservation, understanding and reuse by future generations of researchers. The post will involve using Natural Language Processing text analysis techniques on a vast corpus of scholarly articles and the web resources referenced by them.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent experience. He or she should have strong programming skills and experience with natural language processing techniques and algorithms (e.g., text classification, text mining, document retrieval, topic modelling, machine-learning, text format conversion, document deduplication, corpus processing, evaluation). Experience with large-scale data processing is highly desirable.
