.Professor of Intelligent Systems - Trinity College Dublin, Ireland

The University of Dublin, Trinity College, invites applications for a full-time permanent Professor of Intelligent Systems in the Discipline of Intelligent Systems, School of Computer Science and Statistics, Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Science. The successful candidate will be expected to provide strong academic leadership in research, teaching and supervision.

The successful candidate will be an internationally recognised scholar in at least two of the following three research areas: (i) knowledge and data engineering, (ii) content analytics, and (iii) user interaction, related to the Centre for Global Intelligent Content (CNGL). The successful candidate must also have experience in bringing together research across these and related areas. The successful candidate will provide a leading interdisciplinary role across the School and College, including TCD research themes (in particular Intelligent Content and Communications). An internationally recognised research profile, with a demonstrated ability to raise research funding and a proven capacity to collaborate with industry in domains such as (but not limited to) business, cultural entertainment, education, health, telecommunications and utilities is essential. An excellent track record in teaching and supervision is required.

The post offers an exciting opportunity to provide innovative academic leadership in research and teaching in Intelligent Systems, and to exercise a leading role in building up the academic activity of the School.

This position is tenable from 1st September, 2014.
