Specific Responsibilities:
- To conduct natural language processing research within the scope of existing funding.
- Consultation with co-investigators on appropriate design and development.
- Work toward independent research writing papers, manuscripts, presentations and briefs.
- Prepares written reports and publications as primary author and presents research findings at regional and national meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics or related fields with a focus on Natural Language Processing or Computational Linguistics and exposure to biomedical literature.
- Strong publication record in Biomedical Natural Language Processing.
- Willingness to coordinate and supervise part of the research work of the project.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, with a strong commitment to achieving research goals.
- Solid programming skills.
- Java and practical expertise with standard NLP/related tools are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of biomedical domain is a plus
- Experience in mining clinical literature or clinical narratives.
