The University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia is offering a postdoctoral research fellow position with a 2-year appointment funded by the Australian Research Council. The chief investigators for this project are Professor Justin Zobel and Associate Professor Karin Verspoor in the Department of Computing and Information Systems in the Melbourne School of Engineering.
The successful applicant will participate in the development of methods for evaluating data quality in bioinformatics databases. The project will apply text mining, information retrieval, and natural language processing strategies to identify supporting evidence for structured database facts in the biomedical literature. The position is located in the Department of Computing and Information Systems in the Melbourne School of Engineering and will be expected to be an active member of the Department, collaborating with other researchers.
