Lecturer, Grade 8: £37,756 to £45,053 per annum with potential to progress to £50,688.
Senior Lecturer, Grade 9: £47,787 to £53,765 per annum with potential to progress to £62,306.

Summary:

We are currently investing in a strategic appointment in the area of Data Science designed to enhance and expand our exceptionally strong research and teaching in areas such as data mining and analysis, information retrieval, open data, information policy and governance, and social media research. The appointee will make a strong contribution to the further development of our research activities, to the delivery of our new postgraduate programme in Data Science, and to supervision of research students.
A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field, a well-established or developing research profile, and proven teaching ability or very strong potential, are essential for this appointment, which will be made at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level as appropriate. The successful candidate's research and teaching expertise will complement that of existing staff and will be in one or more of the following areas of Data Science (but not limited to): data mining, data visualisation, business analytics and the practical application of data mining techniques to aid decision making within an organisation.
