The applicant should have a strong research and publication record in
Intelligent Systems, for example in
- Data Mining and Analytics
- Machine Learning
- Recommender Systems
- NLP and Text Mining
- Reasoning under Uncertainty
- Human Computation and Crowd Sourcing
The professorship is connected to an ERC Advanced Grant, ALEXANDRIA,
on "Foundations for Temporal Retrieval, Exploration and Analytics in
Web Archives", and to the L3S Research Center with its focus on Web
Science. The owner of this position will represent the area of
Intelligent Systems both in research as well as in teaching. Active
participation, third party project acquisition and research in the L3S
Research Center is possible and important. Within the faculty the
professorship should contribute to the M.Sc. study programs of
computer science as well as internet technologies and information
systems.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with § 25, Niedersachsen
Higher Education Act (NHG).
Leibniz Universität Hannover is a member of Niedersachsen Institutes
of Technology (NTH), to which the vacant professorship is also

coordinated interdisciplinary programmes and to collaborate in
research and teaching with the universities in Niedersachsen, and
