The ALL India English Language Testing Authority ( AIELTA), of English and Foreign Language University ( EFL-U), Hyderabad, annouces the FIRST national level English proficiency test. The test has been developed by language specialists at EFL-U to assess your ability to use English in real-life, academic or workplace situations. It is not based on any prescribed syllabus or course. EFL-U award a certificate of proficiency to all successful candidates above the age of 16.

Dear all

Shoiab is currently pursuing his Ph.D in HongKong University. He has this suggestion to share with you all

I think you should advice some of your students to go for higher studies than get into jobs after bachelors. There's no career if one goes for jobs especially in companies like TCS, Infosys and other Indian IT companies after Bachelors. I am seeing my friends struggling now in every aspects like unhealthy work environment, low pay, no recognition of their work and many more.
I've read your post about career options apart from IT for CSE students. I.T. is good and challenging but its not for students who excel in CS, its for students who are just fed up with studying and don't want to study any more.

Reserve Bank of India - RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme to generate interest m and awareness about the Indian banking sector and RBI Under the Scheme, the RBI will select a maximum of 150 young scholars through a countrywide competitive examination and award a scholarship. Selection test will focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India and will be held in English as well as in all major regional languages.

Selected candidates will be required to work on projects in select offices of RBI for 2 to 3 months and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs. 7,500/- per month during the duration of die project. RBI will assist outstation awardees in boarding and lodging. The awardees shall have no right/ claim for an appointment in the RBI. Any candidate who had qualified and worked at RBI under the RBI Young Scholar Award Scheme in any of the previous years need not apply again.

To be successful in any venture be it an exam or sports or a stage performance, preparation and execution are two important components. Universiti Brunei Darussalam Doctoral Scholarships Programme 2009 /10

Universiti Brunei Darussala (UBD) is now inviting international candidates to apply for its Doctoral Schoalrships Programme for the academic year 2009/10.

The UBD Doctoral Scholarships Programme is designed to attract world‐class doctoral students who are able to show a very high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the natural sciences, health sciences, social sciences, business and economics, Malay/Brunei studies, language skills and communication, and education, by offering students financial assistance during their doctoral studies.

The UBD Doctoral Scholarships Programme is open to all international candidates, regardless of nationality, applying for admission to a full time PhD programme at UBD at any time in 2009 or 2010. The minimum admission requirements for the scholarship is an Upper Second Class undergraduate degree and a competent or distinction achievement at the Masters degree, both of which should be obtained at an institution recognized by UBD.

Each Scholarship
- covers tutition fees (and bench fees where applicable), one outward and return economy travel fare to Brunei Darussalam,
research expenses up to a maximum of Brunei Dollars $8,000, a yearly book allowance of Brunei Dollars $300, on-campus
accommodation in the university's Residential Halls, plus a monthly personal allowance of Brunei Dollars $500.
- is tenable for the minimum period of candidature for the respective PhD programme at UBD.
